You will be working with the friendly and savvy Chi Nguyen in a cosy filming studio. Upon arrival, you can talk through your expectations or any questions you have about the session, as Chi adjusts the camera and lights to suit you best. There will be a vanity area where you can do any retouches before commencing. During the shoot, Chi will meet you at your comfort level, coach you if required, and uplift you to bring out the best performance you can give that day. Before the session ends, Chi will spend a few minutes confirming which takes you choose for each scene so she can prepare them for send-off.

Learn your lines! You can play around with your performance much better if you have your lines down pat.
Dress the part - bring your own wardrobe, makeup and accessories that you think best elude to the character’s style and world.
You can do some exercises to build your character prior to the shoot, such as writing journal entries in character or coming up with past memories. You can even create a playlist full of songs your character would enjoy, and play it on your way commuting to the session!

Private coaching is tailorerd to your professional goals and how you prefer to work. We may chat through your areas of focus at the start, then look at some scripts together and trial different tools to analyse the scene/ character/ world. After some rehearsal, we may film your performance so you can practice being in front of the camera, and you can bring a copy of your filmed performance home to rewatch. Before the session ends, we may debrief to lock in your discoveries and plan next steps.
Chi is very attuned to every one’s personal needs and will meet you wherever you are at on the day!

The camera we use is the professional, video-centric Canon R50V that can shoot in 4K.
For audio, we use the RODE VideoMic GO II. It is broadcast-quality and a directional shotgun mic - which means when pointed at you, it will pick up all the nuances in your vocal performance and eliminate background noises. The room is also carpeted to reduce echo.
The lighting system is made up of LED panels with in-built diffusers - this means the lights will cast a soft, flattering glow on your face without any harsh shadows. The colour temperature on these light panels can also be changed to whatever suits your skin tone best.
For background, we have full-length studio backdrop in the colour ‘Fashion Grey’, flattering for all skin types and large enough to cover both your close-up and full body shots.
